Accent Events is a second generation wedding planning and special events company, it evolved from Serenitas Weddings Abroad a collaborative venture of two likeminded and very good friends.

A small event can and often does have a ripple affect; and when this happens its best to be flexible and open to new opportunities. A major change however gives us an opportunity to reassess and reflect, the outcome of my reassessment is the re-brand to Accent Events. The new company has enabled me to explore the Italian side of my heritage and to focus on Italy as a desired wedding destination. The diversity of the landscape means that there is a venue out there which will cause many of you to fall in love with it.

A personal view is that an event that appears effortless is because a great deal of time has been spent on planning scenarios and contingencies. Everyone wants their wedding day to go without a hitch, if the words “What happens next?” are uttered this could be a sign that something is missing. The wedding dress is not the only thing that is carefully designed.

The principles of planning not only apply to weddings but to other special events and occasions and therefore Accent will be moving into these areas in the future; there will be more changes some that will be visible and others behind the scenes. It's going to be an exciting time.

The Accent Approach to your wedding/special event.

As soon as possible after the initial enquiry I like to meet with you as a couple, to listen to your ideas for what you want to achieve. The key things are to find out from you:

When Where Why and How

When Year, season, month, day, time
Where in Italy have you chosen for your wedding celebrations
Why have you chosen Italy: this sometimes helps us to making your day special ie you met in Italy, its where you proposed or you know the area well
How would you like your wedding ceremony to be conducted, what kind of ceremony?
Planning your budget: If you wish to provide a guideline budget along with your brief Accent will be able to advise you as to whether this is comparable. Alternatively Accent will work from the brief and put together a baseline budget which can then be scaled or down accordingly.

One of the key bonuses of working with an independent wedding planner is that the couple are seen as individuals and not a booking. Every couple will have a different view of what the highlight will be for them. Having the flexibility to focus on those wishes without having the restrictions of a wedding package means that everyone will benefit from the experience.

Another important point in the wedding planning process is the frequency of communication and accessibility of your wedding co-ordinator. Jo will always aim to respond to any contact within the shortest possible time whether it be to acknowledge or to respond to your question.
