L&R, Sorrento September 2008
Back in May 2007 my now husband and I contacted Jo Daye and Serenitas Weddings to chat about creating our dream wedding in Italy. As a busy working couple with stressful lives, it was clear that arranging a wedding abroad on our own would be virtually impossible to cope with alongside the everyday stresses of work commitments….enter stage left Jo!
I’ve never had any pre-conceptions about what sort of wedding I would want – however, we both knew that we wanted it to be a special day to share with our small families and a great crew of friends and their children. I know Sorrento well, and it seemed like the perfect place to have a non traditional, but still meaningful special day for us and those attending. This was our brief – simple but very wide.
From the off Jo took our rough ideas and formed them into what was for sure the best day of our lives.
Her calm demeanour on the day and the precision as to which everything happened ensured that the day went without a hitch. As a bit of a worrier, Jo gave me total confidence - I had nothing to worry about – all was in hand. Also, her ability to think beyond the brief at the tiniest of details was fantastic. For me, a great example was the distribution of colour matching fans post ceremony to battle the unexpected humidity was a stroke of genius….all of our guests were sooo grateful!
Her suggestions, attention to detail, ability to negotiate a deal and her total commitment to us as a couple was fantastic. Jo took, what I would imagine to be something very stressful to arrange and made it fun – we had an absolute ball!
One key USP for using Jo and Serenitas, was her giving us the confidence to hand our wedding over and her ensuring that we still felt totally involved. There is a very fine line between handing something off and loosing sight of what you want, Jo ensured that this never happened and we both felt completely involved. None of that magic, as the bride, in making decisions was lost.
The whole planning and implementation felt like a project close to her heart – never was it cold and impersonal. I loved too how Jo had her husband Martin involved in the execution of the day – another memory was Jo turning up at the hotel prior to the ceremony perched on the back of a scooter holding a box of flowers with one hand whilst holding onto her husband with the other – it was a sight to behold! How Italian!!
I wish Jo all the very best for the future – I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her to any other couples that were considering getting married in the UK or abroad. Jo will provide a completely bespoke personal day for you, whatever your taste and preference for style of wedding or event. It will be crafted using your brief and will be executed with not only huge professionalism but with that all important personal touch.

My partner Craig and I decided that we'd like to get married in Italy in Sep '09. Even though we are British citizens living in Australia, I had thought that it might be a relatively straightforward task to organise a simple town hall wedding and villa reception, as we didn't plan to have an elaborate wedding and I quite enjoy making the arrangements myself.
However, there does seem to be a lack of freely available information in Italy in comparison with other countries.
