Weddings....Personal ChoiceThe perception of what constitutes a wedding day has changed greatly within the last 20 years. The traditional components of the wedding ceremony may soon be lost on up-coming generations. We are choosing to get married later in life, the majority of us do not opt for a religious ceremony, we may in fact be on to our second marriage; all these are indicative of the times in which we live. The average age in the UK for first time marriages for both men and women is increasing. In 1998 it was 30 for men and 27 for women (National Statistics). In 2006 the average age for a women was 33.7(Guardian Newspaper). Getting married in your 30s may mean that you are not going to rely on your parents to pay the bill, thereby giving you the opportunity to showcase your personal style and preferences, one of which could be getting married outside of the UK. Why do people choose to get married abroad? More and more of us are opting to say “I do” away from what we know best. Making this decision presents a fairly long to-do list: undertaking the necessary research, checking with appropriate officials as to what documentation is required, when do begin the wedding planning process, what will it cost, finding the right venue; once you have told your friends about your wedding (in Italy) how many of them will come. How easy will it be for them to be there for you? There is a lot to think about. Accent Events will be there to discuss all the options and then carryout your decisions on your behalf. To discuss your options contact events@accentevents.co.uk
