Are you ready to get the party started in the hills of Sorrento? I have wedding buzz going on; that feeling when you have something you want to share with everyone! Well I have that feeling after my very brief trip to Sorrento last week – rediscovering the the perfect wedding in Italy venue.
Our visit was a Sorrento revisited trip – we went to introduce ourselves to the owners of Castore. We already had the pleasure of organising weddings here in previous years – this has its own little story but right now I want to shout about this fab venue, the location and all the goodies that come with. It seriously is a 10/10 wedding venue.
The owners have made some clever improvements – some structural changes to open up the space inside and outside – roofs have been removed creating a wonderful airy open space so that you get the full impact of the stunning view. Castore is positioned so that it has expansive views of two bays – if you hear or read the words “Due Golfi – it refers to the Bay of Naples and the Bay of Amalfi. Something to seriously show off to your wedding guests – Aperitivi looking out to Vesuvius and then gala dining with a view of the Bay of Amalfi.
Interior walls have come down making the interior space open and bright and able to accommodate large numbers – when we visited Tiziana was preparing for an Italian/English wedding – many guests but not a problem for Castore.
In its former life Castore was used as a nightclub and retains its license for dancing and late night music. This is a huge bonus as music in and around the Sorrento Peninsula and Amalfi Coast usually has a cut off time of just before midnight. If, as do many wedding couples, you want to carry the festivities and dancing late into the night or early hours of the morning it would be necessary to move on to another venue – night clubs are usually underground venues for noise restrictions. Castore is unique in that the party can go on until the early hours – you will have the night time views and sparkling lights of the Sorrento peninsula and still be able to dance the night away. Being up in the hills of Sorrento does have its advantages.
If you like the idea of being out of the hubbub of Sorrento just behind the venue is private accommodation for up to 12 people, this comes with swimming pool and a view of the small vineyard.
There are two access points to Castore, one from the road below the venue (which involves climbing some steps) or you can arrive in style – your wedding transport can take a small side road that has a mild incline up to the property – just imagine the cheers and applause from your family and friends – this kind of excitement is something that only comes with such special events and adds to your wedding day experience.
There is a different dynamic at Castore, yes it does involve organising transport from the civil ceremony locations in Sorrento, it is a relatively short drive and one that will wow your guests as they climb higher into the hills at each bend. The villa is a seriously cool and chilled out venue. It needs little styling for a simple and sophisticated look or you can introduce your own style and design for your personalised wedding them. And I cannot emphasise enough the impact of the views.
The two terraces are perfect for symbolic ceremonies for those of you who prefer to do the legal requirement back in your home country and keep the wedding planning to one location – this will ensure you and your guests can relax totally and enjoy your wedding day.
Winter Wedding Sorrento
The other bit of good news is that Castore is an all year venue – if you are dreaing of a winter / Christmas wedding then Castore could be the perfect venue for you. To create a warm and welcoming atmosphere the interior looks just as enticing and elegant decorated with lights and the dancing flames of the real fire.
