Reinaldo and Jodie October 2016:

Gio and Martin are absolute superstars! From the moment we contacted Accent Events, Gio guided us on a smooth, stress-free journey to our wedding date. And our journey was not a simple one! An Australian Brit, marrying a Brazilian Italian, living in London, wanting to legally marry in Italy, but we did it!Gio met us in London and really got to know our style, budget and what was important to us. She arranged four venue viewings that were just spot on. Two were great, one was exactly what we wanted, and one was beyond our wildest dreams. And we secured that dream venue.

Gio was so organised, everything else just fell into place. No detail was forgotten. And on the day Gio and Martin went above and beyond. Torrential rain, family medical problems, yet the day continued seamlessly. And it was magical. One month on and everyone continues to tell me that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. And we could not have done it alone. No words can ever thank you enough Gio and Martin – we will never forget you!

Katie & Samuel September 2015: Katie’s dad wrote:

May I just add my own words of thanks for all your help in planning Katie’s wedding.

As she probably told you, the arrangements were utterly smooth. Everything turned up exactly on cue and everyone was so friendly and professional. I don’t know how you choose the people you work with and through, but it’s obviously inspired choices.

As you know, I speak a little Italian and my books have always had a chapter called “at the station” or “in the restaurant”. I never had one with “at the ladies’ hairdressers” but I managed to get through it!! And I had several gossips with local shopkeepers as well as the Bellevue Syrene staff.

So thanks again, to you, Carmela, the make-up lady, the hairstylist, the musicians and to Francesco. To everyone. It all made for an utterly memorable experience.

My very best wishes and thanks again.

Lauren and Stuart:

Hi Gio,
Gio, Jo or Giuseppina, whatever name you choose to call her (we prefer “Superwoman”), is an absolutely incredible wedding coordinator. Words cannot describe just how fantastic she is at her job. When I first spoke to Gio a couple of years ago, I was clueless about where to begin with our wedding. Stu and I had been together about 10 years and were living together so it wasn’t something which had really been a priority as we were already very happy together. Of course friends and family always asked when we would tie the knot and we felt perhaps we really should!

When I contacted Gio we didn’t know quite where in the world to get married but for obvious reasons, Italy had piqued our interest. When I spoke to Gio she was immediately warm and helpful and made me feel as though she had all the time in the world for me. She conjured up many dreamy scenes of the range of possibilities available in Italy, from beach weddings and Lakeside settings to enchanting rustic villas. She assured me there was something to suit every budget and with ours in mind she would help us find the perfect backdrop for our big day.

As Gio would discover, I’m not the most decisive of people, and at that time, Cyprus was another country which we were considering. We explored various options over the months (or maybe it was more like a year!) which followed and visited a travel company which had been recommended to us by a close friend. However, we couldn’t help but think of Italy and I kept remembering what a positive impression Gio had made on me.

In 2013 we decided to visit Sorrento for my dad’s 60th birthday (and Stu’s birthday as it turned out) and took the opportunity to explore the Amalfi Coast. At this time Gio was kind enough to recommend places we should go; even local eateries and bars! I thought this was a lovely touch as at this point we had made no commitment to her company, but as you’ll discover with Gio, her thoughtful little touches really set her apart – she always stood out in my mind even when we were exploring all the other options around the world!

Well suffice to say, we completely fell in love with Ravello. For those who have never been I cannot recommend a visit highly enough; it is quite simply breathtaking, I had never seen anywhere so beautiful and enchanting. I must admit, we dismissed it straight away as a wedding option as we thought it would be way out of our price range but as we discovered, Gio could make it happen!

Most of our correspondence with Gio was via email, with a few Skype calls for good measure. Before flying out to Italy, we had actually only physically met her once (at the beautiful Old Bridge Hotel in Huntingdon – Gio’s perfect suggestion). That was the fantastic thing about Gio though – there was never a need to constantly meet up as she’s so hot on emails, which are of course so convenient. Her replies were always speedy and extremely informative; we were never left up in the air about anything and it felt like not a day went by without correspondence which was so essential.

We quickly grew to look forward to Gio’s emails as not only did they mean everything was progressing well, she also has a lovely way with words and connecting with the reader. I remember she continued to conjure up beautifully romantic imagery of how our big day would turn out – she really understood us as a couple and our hopes and aspirations for the day.

Stu and I were ambitious in our wedding plans and I must admit I probably looked at Pinterest too much as the amount of things we wanted to achieve as a result of the ideas we found became a rather large task list! But Gio never deterred us from doing all of the little touches we had planned, quite the opposite; she embraced our ideas and made suggestions too based on her wealth of experience. She completely understood what we hoped to achieve and was infinitely helpful, even to the point of taking fans and candles in her hand luggage for us!

Over in Italy, she insisted she and her husband Martin (who we discovered to be equally as golden as Gio) be given all of the decorations and knick-knacks for the wedding to prepare and organise. She said they would do everything (including making up little boxes, tying ribbons to chairs, and much more) as they wanted us to relax and enjoy the few days leading up to the wedding. Although we didn’t wish to give them every task we had left to do (we felt the support we had received from Accent Events had already gone over and above anything we could have imagined), their help was an absolute godsend and their attention to detail was incredible.

I can honestly say our wedding day was the best day of my life! Not only were we deeply touched to have been surrounded by 27 of our loved ones who had made the journey to be with us on our special day, we also had the superb support of Gio, her fantastic husband Martin, and of course all of the super-talented professionals Gio had expertly organised, all of whom I’d recommend in a heartbeat – Gerardo (hair), Zoe (make-up), Francesco (photographer), Alfonso (videography), Marco (music), Armando (flowers), Tina and Nunzia (the Villa Eva team) Paola (caricaturist), Carmela (our ceremony translator who actually became so much more than that) and all of the other amazing professionals involved. We were overwhelmed by Gio and her team; we couldn’t have done it without them and will be eternally grateful.

Many of our guests have said just how much they enjoyed our wedding, and as for us, well, we had simply been on cloud nine (and have been ever since!). Thank you Gio from the bottom of our hearts for helping us realise all of our aspirations for what turned out to be our perfect wedding day. I would do it all again in a heartbeat (with the same man of course!)

All our love and eternal gratitude,

Lauren and Stuart Maclean xx

Ray & Beth Iavasile:

Working with Jo Daye and Accent Events was nothing short of fantastic! When we decided we absolutely wanted a winter wedding in Italy, we realized to do so without the expert help of a wedding planner (who was experienced in Southern Italy) would have been overwhelming (and almost impossible). We already had booked travel accommodations in Southern Italy in late December, so there was no changing that! The problem was that after proposing to my bride-to-be in early November (2014), finding a location, a willing town (and officiant) on short notice (especially at Christmas time), and finding and hiring multiple vendors (photographer, videographer, florist, makeup artist, musicians, vintage auto, and dinner location) was a tall, tall order!

When I stumbled upon Accent Events, not only did our stress an anxiety begin to disappear, but – now that the wedding is behind us – everything we had hoped our wedding to become, fell perfectly into place! Jo Daye expertly held our hand from day one and we have memories now that many could only hope for! In addition to all the plans for the wedding, we needed guidance and help with the legal-side of having a wedding outside of the USA. Not only did Jo make the process seem almost effortless, she connected us with people who met with us in person (once arriving in Italy), got our documents to the necessary locations, and took all the necessary steps to ensure our wedding day would be legal. Again, without this assistance, we would have never pulled this off on our own. Also, Jo’s Italy-based assistant and our wedding ceremony translator, Carmela, was beyond just a day helper! She was fantastic and wonderfully personal! She was in contact with us weeks before the wedding (helping us with writing our vows), met us for an intro meeting once we arrived in Italy, arrived early the day of the wedding to make sure our ceremony would be flawless, celebrated with us after the wedding, and even helped us with legal details a day after the wedding!

As a professional wedding photographer in the USA for over twenty years, I have worked with a lot of wedding planners. I can assure you that what puts Jo Daye at the highest level among the best wedding planners I’ve worked with, and what sets Accent Events apart from others, is that she and her team personalized our event to our specific needs, far exceeded our expectations and made us feel like we were family! From beginning to end, planning a wedding in about 30 days is not only miraculous, it was magical! If you happened to stumble upon Accent Events website and are still deciding on who to hire to plan your wedding or event, you need to look no further! Jo Daye is a dream-maker!

Mr and Mrs Giamblanco:

Dearest Gio,

Marc and I have been married for a little over a week and are still on a high… getting back into the swing of things, but finding it hard to get used to Edinburgh instead of beautiful Sorrento!

Planning our wedding and our actual wedding day was one of the best things I have ever done and would do it all again, all thanks to Gio! We cannot thank you enough for making the whole experience so perfect and amazing.

Gio is fantastic in every way… we clicked right away and I knew I need not stress about anything as I could rely on her completely. She always returned my emails super quick, put us at ease and helped us at each step of the way. It was like meeting an old friend when we finally met 2 days before our wedding after almost a year of skype/emails. It was also fab meeting her lovely husband Martin, they are such a great couple.

Gio and Martin could not have done more for us. They ferried us around to visit the venue and hairdresser, looked after us so well and really went above and beyond, fetching glue for my sister’s fiance who had a shoe emergency on the day of the wedding! They helped my auntie who has MS getting around the venue, arranged beautiful gypsophila flowers on the table at Villa Fondi, bringing those flowers to apperitivi and Relais Blu, taking extra photos on the morning of the wedding, petals to shower us on the way out of Villa Fondi…I hope I haven’t left anything out! Gio and Martin really care about the people they work with and it really shows. I could not recommend Gio enough to anyone who is thinking of having a wedding in Italy, I am so glad that I found her.

Our wedding was the best day of my life (I know it sounds like a cliche!)… our venues were amazing, I could not recommend Hotel La Ripetta and Relais Blu more….and Villa Fondi of course, I would not have changed a thing. Thank you so much Gio and Martin, you made our wedding the most perfect day and we will treasure the memories forever,

Lots of Love
Mr and Mrs Giamblanco
xx

Rosie & Nigel Wedding:

Hi Gio,
Hope you are well? We are home and back at work. I feel a bit shell shocked, I think it will take a few days to get back into the swing of things. Nigel has already done five loads of washing and I am quite sad putting away all of the lovely accessories from the wedding day and wondering when I will use them again. The memories are really special and the feedback from friends and family has been fabulous about how much they enjoyed the event.

It will take quite some time arranging all of the name changes I need to do but I think I am going to feel really lost without your regular e-mail updates on progress. It’s been over a year and there will be a big gap now. Perhaps you can just update me about someone else’s wedding plans every so often? (joke). Speak soon Rosie & Nigel (July 2014)

Mr & Mrs Reid:

To Gio

Thank you so much for all your help in making our wedding day the most amazing day of our lives. Cannot thank you enough, you have been so incredible
All our love

Andy & Annette:

Hi Gio
All back and happily married. Also had a wonderful holiday!

Just wanted to thank you a million times for all your help. Everything went smoothly and like clockwork. It was just magical.

We cannot thank you enough and will be forever grateful.

Very best wishes

Andy & Annette

Annie and Ren:

Hi Gio!

Thank you so much for your lovely card and we loved that it was authentic Italian!

Ren and I just wanted to thank you so much for planning and organising this slightly unusual tri-location wedding-baptism! Must admit that when we first came up with the idea of having it spread over 3 places Ren and I did not fully appreciate what a challenge it would be logistically, but it all ended up going so well and running very smoothly, thanks to you. For me, I think if Mum and Dad hadn’t needed so much support it would have been less stressful. They were so impressed by how attentive you and Martin were. You always seemed to be there just at the right time, Mum said.

There are so many elements of the day that stood out for us, thanks to you – my experience with Serena at the salon, Martin bringing the button holes to Ren’s room and the rest to VC, how you kindly tried to help with Rosie’s wardrobe malfunction!, the smooth-running boat trips, the ceremony with Anna (warm and funny) and Clara (thoughtful and kind), our delicious lunch at Carillon (with the art deco style sign that we both liked!), the amazing church service and how nicely it was decorated, the stunning table decoration at VC, the way that you announced our arrival at the aperitivi, taking our stuff back to our hotel, helping with the photos and patiently waiting for us to come back to VC with my credit card that I stupidly gave to you to take back to our hotel… The list goes on!

I’m not sure why I did this but I brought along a copy of my itinerary (in that bag that Martin kindly carried around!) but did not check it once – didn’t need to as everything was taken care of, of course!

Tuscany was lovely. We stayed for just a few days and visited Cortona, Pienza and Florence, and our favourite place was Pienza, surprisingly for some, but we liked the amazing views and little streets. For us, though, nothing can beat Lake Como – we adore mountains and water and as we got married there it will always be dear to us.

Thank you again and we will defo recommend you to anyone who is looking for a wedding planner.

Annie and Ren x

Faye & Ed:

I recently got married in Sorrento at the Cloisters. I only had a very small party of twelve and I can honestly say that I could not have done it without the help of a planner. I actually became very ill this year and all the headache of planning everything would of been virtually impossible without her.

I researched the internet and I was very dubious about using planners actually based in Italy so I ended up using a lady called Gio Daye who is based here in the UK.

Gio was EXCELLENT. From the minute I spoke to her on the telephone Gio really put me at ease. She even travelled from the opposite end of the country to meet me and my partner to talk about what we wanted out of the day. Gio will discuss your budget with you from the start and then her fee is dependent on how much of her help you need. I can honestly say that I could not have coped with all the legal paperwork without her help. It is a bit of a nightmare.

I was very lucky to have her there at my wedding on the day. There was nothing that was too much trouble. Gio arranged my hair trial, photographer flowers, transport, and helped me decide on my perfect venue for my wedding dinner. She was on hand with tissues, and bottles of water and her lovely husband even ran around Sorrento on his motorbike getting things for my guests!!!!!! The good thing about her is that she does not do just a “Wedding package” but a tailormade wedding to fit YOU. So if you arrange your own photographer etc she can still help you with the other areas.

At the end of the day it is personal preference, but just be careful if you are looking at any of the wedding planners that advertise online as I have heard some horror stories regarding them charging for replies to e-mails etc.

If anyone wants to ask me any questions regarding getting married in Sorrento then please feel free to do so, as I see some of the posts are quite old.

Whatever you decide to do enjoy your special day in such a beautiful place.
Thank you
Faye & Ed

Jennifer Pascall, Lucca Wedding:

My partner Craig and I decided that we’d like to get married in Italy in Sep ’09.

Even though we are British citizens living in Australia, I had thought that it might be a relatively straightforward task to organise a simple town hall wedding and villa reception, as we didn’t plan to have an elaborate wedding and I quite enjoy making the arrangements myself. However, there does seem to be a lack of freely available information in Italy in comparison with other countries. I was very pleased to find Gio at Accent Events who was able to help me with some details of the wedding that were proving tricky to deal with on my own.

As I had a limited budget I really wanted a person who would charge me for each element on an ad hoc basis rather than a blanket wedding planner fee. I found Gio to to be extremely helpful and quick to respond to my questions. With the difference in time zones between the UK and Australia, it makes a big difference. Gio provided exactly the service that I was looking for and I would recommend her to anyone who needs help to arrange their big day (especially if it’s not that big!).

Joanne & Lewis, Sorrento:

To Gio
Where do we start? You have been absolutely amazing. I couldn’t of done it without you and it has been a pleasure getting to know you

Can I say again how amazing you, Maria and Martin were. Absolutely fantastic and we really appreciate it. We had such a fantastic day and everything went perfectly. I think this just sums up what an amazing wedding and holiday we all had. I think we have all made long lasting friendships, some old and some new but all with great memories from Italy and one’s never to be forgotten. Thank you so much!

Hope to stay in touch
Thanks Again

Lisa & John, Capri :

Hi Gio
Just wanted to email to say a big thank you for everything you did for me and John on our wedding day. We really did have the best day (despite the hideous weather!). Everyone was so complementary and the majority of that was down to you!
I will always recommend you and Carmela as you both did a wonderful job.
Maybe next summer we can come to Cambridge and we can meet for coffee if you are around.

Thanks again.
Lisa & John, Capri

Lisa & Rob, Sorrento:

Back in May 2007 my now husband and I contacted Gio Daye and Serenitas Weddings to chat about creating our dream wedding in Italy. As a busy working couple with stressful lives, it was clear that arranging a wedding abroad on our own would be virtually impossible to cope with alongside the everyday stresses of work commitments….enter stage left Gio!

I’ve never had any pre-conceptions about what sort of wedding I would want – however, we both knew that we wanted it to be a special day to share with our small families and a great crew of friends and their children. I know Sorrento well, and it seemed like the perfect place to have a non traditional, but still meaningful special day for us and those attending. This was our brief – simple but very wide.

From the off Gio took our rough ideas and formed them into what was for sure the best day of our lives.

Her calm demeanour on the day and the precision as to which everything happened ensured that the day went without a hitch. As a bit of a worrier, Gio gave me total confidence – I had nothing to worry about – all was in hand. Also, her ability to think beyond the brief at the tiniest of details was fantastic. For me, a great example was the distribution of colour matching fans post ceremony to battle the unexpected humidity was a stroke of genius….all of our guests were sooo grateful!

Her suggestions, attention to detail, ability to negotiate a deal and her total commitment to us as a couple was fantastic. Gio took, what I would imagine to be something very stressful to arrange and made it fun – we had an absolute ball!

One key USP for using Gio and Serenitas, was her giving us the confidence to hand our wedding over and her ensuring that we still felt totally involved. There is a very fine line between handing something off and loosing sight of what you want, Gio ensured that this never happened and we both felt completely involved. None of that magic, as the bride, in making decisions was lost.
The whole planning and implementation felt like a project close to her heart – never was it cold and impersonal. I loved too how Gio had her husband Martin involved in the execution of the day – another memory was Gio turning up at the hotel prior to the ceremony perched on the back of a scooter holding a box of flowers with one hand whilst holding onto her husband with the other – it was a sight to behold! How Italian!!

I wish Gio all the very best for the future – I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her to any other couples that were considering getting married in the UK or abroad. Gio will provide a completely bespoke personal day for you, whatever your taste and preference for style of wedding or event. It will be crafted using your brief and will be executed with not only huge professionalism but with that all important personal touch.

Mr & Mrs K, Sorrento:

On deciding to get married in Italy I made several enquiries of different websites offering a wedding coordination/planner service. My main concern was that my budget was not vast! I received back many replies to my queries, some people said that my budget would no way be able to create the sort of day I was hoping for, however, one of these companies actually took the time and picked up the telephone. This was the first time I spoke to Gio Daye of Accent Events and from that exact moment I knew I had found my wedding planner! Gio operates on the basis of making you feel like a couple and not a contract and I for one can 100% vouch for that.

Even though our wedding was not one of a massive budget Gio made sure that our day felt like it was! The venues she helped us choose and the people that were involved in our day were perfect and exceeded every expectation we could have had for our wedding day.

Gio helped us every step of the way and was a great support (especially to me!) through the whole process – she even managed to pre-empt decisions where I kept changing my mind, coming back to the original ideas we had discussed and Gio telling me not to worry it was all in hand. That is the sign of a true professional and someone that has taken the time and effort to get to know who they are working with.

If you are looking for a wedding planner that’s going to put themselves out for you and your interests on the one day where you get to celebrate your relationship with your friends and family then I really cannot recommend Gio highly enough. She made us feel special, made our guests feel special, I had not one worry on the day itself, the whole wedding flowed beautifully and didn’t have that constructed, pushy feel to it whatsoever which is what I didn’t want, my husband was absolutely blown away by the whole event (he’s not the “wedding planning type”!) and I am very proud to call Gio a friend of our family now and look forward to seeing her business go from strength to strength.

All the very best Gio

Mr & Mrs K, Sorrento

Mr & Mrs S, Amalfi Coast, June:

After my Wife and Myself first got engaged back in July 2009 we straight away started thinking of places to get married, would it be at home or abroad? How much would it cost? If we did it abroad would it be too complicated? Etc Etc…

Putting everything aside we ask ourselves the question “if the above questions weren’t an issue, where would we get married??”
Italy!!!!

So, then started the task, just how do we do it?

After sending a few emails to companies claiming to specialise in wedding in Italy, one reply from Accent Events stood out among the rest. We exchanged a few very informal emails and arranged to meet up with Gio and take a trip out to Cambridge.

After swatting a few wasps and having a good old chit chat about what options would be available to us Michelle and me where blown away with just how easy and now very realistic a wedding in Italy would be.

We then decided to make a brief but optional visit out to Sorrento. We had originally thought of the Lakes as the venue, but after speaking more and more with Gio, it became very apparent that Southern Italy would be better suited to us.

After a very short flight, there we where stood in the November rain in what could only be describe as one of the most beautiful places on earth. “We had definitely found where we would tie the knot”.

From then on, over the next 18 months, Gio started building what would turn out to be the most amazing wedding “not only my words, but the words of the 51 guests 1 child and 2 babies that joined us”.

From start to finish Gio kept us very informed of what was happening, took on exactly what we were thinking and made it better, she organised an amazing family meal two days before and a pre-wedding party the night before. If that wasn’t enough, she flew out to be with us to rehearse, co-ordinate the full day and evening and still now just two weeks later she is finalising the last of the legal documents for us.

Gio’s passion, knowledge, expertise and fantastic contacts are nothing compared to the person she is! Gio has made what could have been one of the most stressful days you can have, seem the easiest thing on earth.

Ours was a truly amazing day.
Thanks again Gio

Rob and Michelle Dwight:

Well, what can we say? Thanks to Gio and her husband Martin, our dream wedding in Italy became a reality!

The decision to get married in Italy was straightforward; how to go about organising it, however, was less so. With both of us working full-time and both of us not speaking very many words of Italian, it was clear from the outset that attempting to organise a three-day wedding break abroad on our own for about 60 guests was a non-starter.

Step forward Gio. Having emailed about half a dozen specialist Italian wedding planners with a vague overall idea of what we wanted and a handful of very specific requirements on which we weren’t prepared to compromise (for example, all of our guests staying in the same place), Gio was the only one person who had taken our requirements on board and not tried to sell us something different. The decision to choose Gio to help plan and organise our wedding was therefore an easy one and one that proved to be inspired.

From the off, Gio impressed us. Of the handful of suitable venues that she put forward, we found just the location we were looking for. On paper, it looked perfect. On a visit to Tuscany to see it and meet Gio, it was even better everything about the Villa was magical and we fell in love it with it and the surroundings instantly.

Of all the qualities that Gio possesses, perhaps the most important as far as we were concerned was that she never lost sight of whose big day it was. She listened to what we wanted; asked questions to get us to think about what really mattered to us; came up with lots of ideas to enhance our own; suggested alternatives when what we were thinking of was neither possible nor practical; gave us regular and timely updates on progress; sourced a whole host of fantastic local suppliers in Tuscany; and took account of our budget and was honest about potential costs but never once did she try to push us down a route that didn’t fit in with what we wanted or make us feel that we weren’t totally in control of matters.

All of this made us trust Gio implicitly. We had no reservations whatsoever about handing over to her everything to do with the wedding and had total confidence in her meticulous planning, attention to detail, and genuine enthusiasm for making our wedding a truly memorable and fun occasion.

The end result was truly amazing and, in all honesty, couldn’t have turned out any better. We, and our families and friends, spent several wonderful days in Tuscany, culminating in a wedding day both of us had dreamed of and will never forget. Gio had organised everything to perfection from Michelle’s beautifully-prepared night before apartment, the fabulous translator, Rachael, and the talented photographers to the spectacular flowers, the children’s entertainers (who proved so popular that they were re-booked for later the same day!) and the lashings of bubbly to quench everybody’s thirst immediately after the ceremony! All of which meant that we were able to thoroughly enjoy every minute of the day without having to worry about a thing.

Gio and Martin thank you so much for helping us to enjoy the best day of our lives. We’re still talking about how fantastic the whole event was and so are all of our guests, young and old. Given that 60 (fairly intelligent) adults can’t be wrong, we would have no hesitation whatsoever recommending Gio’s services to any other couples who might need a hand organising their wedding either here in the UK or further afield, like Italy. From our own wonderful experience, we know that you will get exactly what you want, when you want it and how you want it and all of it will be done with efficiency, personal warmth and a smile!
Rob and Michelle Dwight, Figline Valdarno, September

Sarah & Thomas:

Hiya Gio thank you and I hope you and Martin are well. Do you know when Livio is expecting his little one? And yes of course you can put the pictures forward and Tom’s doing really well. I’m so sorry that we haven’t written your thank you letter yet but with getting ready for uni, mum going into intensive care and Florrie coming along its been pretty full on and you really do deserve a massive thanks for the amazing job you did. Although I like my job I really do envy you for finding your dream career, you are so passionate, natural and brilliant at the job too, I hope I’m as lucky as you and find something that I enjoy as much xx
Sarah & Thomas Tuscany – Elope Wedding

Sharon & Mark, Positano:

Well, what can I say our wedding day was the most amazing, magical day we have ever had in our entire lives. What a place Positano is, it’s magic just engulfs you and you just don’t want to leave ever. I would go back in a heartbeat. From the town hall to the Murat and then Le Terrazze, we just floated through the day. A massive THANK YOU to you, you were absolutely great, we really appreciated all your effort to get to Italy amidst absolute adversity due to the strikes. It was lovely to meet you in person eventually. I never got the chance to say that I adored the flowers and how you arranged them on the terrace at the table didn’t go unnoticed. I also have to say thank you for getting us to do our first dance in the Murat, photo’s look great fun and if we hadn’t we would never have had a chance for a first dance. I never thought that would be important to me, but it was amazing. Thank you.

From the moment we touched down in Italy to the morning we left, it was like living a dream. Our guests are all still raving about it and we were all so depressed when we came home.

An amazing and special day and a job very well done!
Sharon & Mark, Positano

Tanya & Mark , Santa Maria di Castellabate:

Hi Gio
Back in rainy Manchester! It’s still a bit strange being ‘married’ but we’re loving it!
Had some wonderful feedback from guests and from friends we have shown pictures to. Thanks for helping it so special.

Just sorting out our beautiful wedding photo album – can you send the photos Martin took so I can add them?

Thanks
Tanya & Mark , Santa Maria di Castellabate

Fiona & Richie:

Thank you so much for helping out, being there in Italy and beign a part of it all! Thank you also for your kind words and gift. The bell has actually been used recently too (following me having my appendix out and Richie insisted I ring it instead of getting up!).

It was a really magical time for us – thank you for being a part of it!
I think that is it 🙂
Love from

Vicki & Richard:

My husband and I got engaged in Sorrento at Easter in 2012 and quickly decided we wanted to marry in the stunning Cloisters. We chose to have our reception the Excelsior Vittoria as its views and interior was simply beautiful (and not as costly as you might think!)
When back in England, like any bride, I couldn’t wait to start planning and, because I’m a teacher, I was restricted to the holiday months so needed to get a date booked before they all got snapped up. We did try to get some advice from the Town Hall and tourist information when in Sorrento to see who we needed to speak to regarding booking the Cloisters but we found that suddenly, their previously perfect English was replaced with confused looks; something I later realised was due to the fact I think they simply prefer dealing with planners as they must be plagued with enquiring tourists!

So, back in England I tried everything I could think of to book the Cloisters and sort paperwork as I was convinced I could do it alone and using tips from the web but I couldn’t have been more wrong. It became very obvious that I needed a pro and I googled wedding planners for Sorrento reviews and a lady called Gio Daye from Accents Events came up. I got her contact details and emailed her and she got back to me so quickly – something I became very used to! – and we arranged a telephone call for later that day. At this point I was actually quite worried that everything was going to start snowballing and I would lose the opportunity to actually plan my wedding and it would all be in the hands of a lady in Italy and I would have limited say but I could not have been more wrong! Gio actually lives in England but has the connections, know-how and absolutely amazing ideas to help with everything we needed. I really have to stress that ‘help’ is what I mean: if I wanted the choice over something, I could chose/request anything and Gio would tell us if it were possible, prices and options and if we wanted Gio to directly arrange something, she was flexible and it soon became apparent she totally ‘got’ our dream wedding vision. To top it all off, Gio at Accent Events didn’t hand me a list of packages, she completely tailored one to suit our needs so at no point did I feel my wedding was being treated as anything other than unique. Throughout the planning, Gio also became my extra set of ears when I wanted advice – she was perfect and I know from wedding forums that her service was very competitively priced. I know our day would not have been the same if it were not for Gio and her husband, Martin who was so helpful and friendly on the day (yep, Gio even attends to help everything run smoothly!) They were more than just planners, everyone commented on what lovely company they were too.

Befor the wedding we stayed in the Palazzo Jannuzzi Relais in the main square and I would definitely stay there again; such a funky room with awesome fresh breakfasts. It was also perfect location to meet with our friends and family and the ladies on reception couldn’t help enough, they even froze water we bought for the cloisters for our gusts (Gio’s fab idea) and boy, were the guests grateful for it!

The Cloisters itself is picture-perfect, a real fairy tale setting and it will always be the most romantic day of my life. I walked in to the wedding march being played by a mandolin and guitar (again, we wanted musicians and Gio gave us some fab options and this was our fav) and our guests comments on how personal the wedding day was and intimate amongst 30 of our closest friends and family. Be warned though, it’s blimming hot in August so water and fans for your wedding are a must. Top tip – if you buy water at the supermarket like we did, buy the ones from the shelf instead of the fridge as they are half price and every little helps when buying in bulk for a wedding! I made some neck tags to hang over the bottles in our wedding colours and actually made our paddle fans too with the help of a tech teacher at my school so the little touches also made it feel personal and I was really pleased we had done this.

The Excelsior Vittoria was everything we had hoped and the food was without doubt the best (and only) 5 course meal I’ve ever had, it was presented immaculately – they set the tables wearing white gloves and iron the cloths again for goodness sake; utter perfection. We decided to treat the 3 nights after the wedding as our mini-moon so booked a suite there. It was pricey, but oh so worth it as it really rounded off and amazing day (and week) in Sorrento. The suite was lovely and the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially if you took time to talk to them.

What can I say, the wedding was perfect, Sorrento is amazing and Gio Daye from Accent Weddings is absolutely fantastic at her job! Book her ladies and you’re in good hands!
